Screening colonoscopy can prevent 90% of all cases of colon cancer
Rectoscopy
Rectoscopy is used for the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the anal canal and rectum.
The examination is painless, but causes a feeling of having an urge to defecate over only a short period of time, which is normal and should not worry you. No sedative injection is necessary.
A rectoscopy should be carried out with symptoms such as
- Complaints of the anal canal and rectum
- Suspected haemorrhoids
- Anal fissures
- Diseases of the rectum
Preparation for rectoscopy
- You do not have to have an empty stomach.
- 2 hours before the examination you have to give yourself at home 2 enemas (Clysmol®) and hold back the liquid for about 5 minutes before you empty your bowels.
